Richard Merelman, a native of Washington, D. C., is Professor (Emeritus) of Political Science at the UW-Madison, where he taught for over thirty years. He began writing poetry in 2001, and has published one volume and two chapbooks of poetry. His most recent is "Sensorium," from which he will read some poems tonight. His poems have appeared in a reasonable number of journals. His favorite aspect of poetry is the sheer pleasure of reading it, hearing it, and writing it.
