About

Mother Fool's Coffeehouse first opened in the spring of 1994. At that time it was under the ownership of Jean Lister. Jean ran it for a year, creating a very homey and comfortable community space, then decided to move to Minneapolis. She sold the coffeehouse to us, Stephanie Rearick and Jon Hain, in June of 1995. We had met Jean when our old band, Your Mom SRO played at Mother Fool's.

We host a story slam every month. Every month features a new visual artist in the cafe.

We serve coffee from Collectivo.

Our baked goods -- scones, coffeecakes, cookies, and cookie sandwiches -- come from Heirloom Bakery, baked 2 blocks away! Delicious gluten-free cookies, bars, and breads come from 1146 Vegan in Sun Prairie, and GF breakfast cookies from Sweet Eats. All the bakery has been all vegan since 1995!

One of the missions of Mother Fool's is to show people that you can have wonderful treats without using animal products. We do not carry any dairy and, instead, make our drinks with oat or soy milk.
