Original Mechanical Mouse
Joel Collinsworth is a third generation writer who struggled with short story publishing for nearly a decade. In 2001 he returned to college, got a couple short stories published in the literary journal, and won the Freshman Writing Prize. Joel began songwriting in 2006 and in 2010 began using the band name Original Mechanical Mouse. Influences include, Elliot Smith, Nick Drake, Andrew Bird, The Shins, Jim James, Conor Oberst, Andy Hull, Aly Spaltro, and many other artists from the modern folk genre. He is unsigned with over three-hundred original songs, an EP, and numerous songs online.

When you hear the name of Joel Collinsworth's solo project, Original Mechanical Mouse, it's tempting to conjure the mechanical mouse from the Tom & Jerry cartoon (used by Jerry to fool Tom).
