Laurel Statz is a painter and Madison area native. Her work, while figurative, is influenced by abstraction and minimalism. The paintings often have a quick and instinctual nature, capturing just what’s needed. While she often times herself to eliminate extra details and over-precision, she has ventured into more detailed works as well. Laurel does not attach narrative to her pieces. Rather, she thinks of them like a journaling process for her scatter-brained psyche. The figures in the pieces are meant to be processing tools for the artist and the viewer. Peel A Peel is B. Winterle, J. Hipple, G. Novak, J. Christman

Original Mechanical Mouse is his band name, but his friends call him "Mouse" or Joel. His real name is Joel Collinsworth and he is a third generation writer and folk musician.

His music reminds some of Bon Iver, or Neil Young. Joel has over 350 original songs. The style and songs are original, not only in name but in presentation. Joel is returning to the Madison area again this year, having recently performed at the Union for their lakeside open stage on the terrace. Joel invites you to join him at Mother Fools to enjoy some of his latest songs and maybe a few OMM classics.
