February 2026

Artist Statement Tamara Lea Kaufman’s personal artwork ranges from serious to quirky, dark, adult-themed humor. She creates multimedia assemblage, collage, and dioramas made from HO-scale railroad hobby miniatures, preserved insects, paint, embroidery, found objects, and typically discarded materials such as candy wrappers and the overlooked debris of everyday life. The Geoff and Kia Show isn-t your grandmother-s married-couple-musical-duo!

FACT: Steve and Eydie never played Wind Beneath My Wings as an accordion/theremin duet.

FACT: Sonny and Cher never wailed on a bunch of metal bowls accompanied by a WONDROUS RHYTHMICAL CONTRAPTION called the Horamatic 9000. At least not in public.

FACT: None of the afore-mentioned hacks offer the Geoff and Kia guarantee: sock puppets at every show. For this performance, Kia Karlen-s Kavalkade of Sockpuppet Artistry will feature scenes from the noir masterpiece Double Indemnity.

Also, Kia and Geoff play improvised music on a variety of instruments, including the vibraphone and Frenched horn, plus the items mentioned above, plus, WHO KNOWS WHAT?

Come and find out, why not. January 28, Mother Fool-s, the Geoff and Kia Show. Six dollar cover. You may not regret it, and as always, NO REFUNDS.

Geoff Brady and Kia Karlen have spent nigh on two decades making music together and unleashing creative mayhem on the Madison community. They currently perform together in Yid Vicious Klezmer Ensemble, Optometri, and Chick Singer Band; and separately in groups including the Madison Symphony Orchestra, Reptile Palace Orchestra, the Allison Margaret Quartet, and the Gomers. Together, they have launched many performative oddities over the years, including Sound Off: The Musical; Millennial Stew; Yammer Summer Guerilla Laundromat Tour; Theremania; The Sensorium; Car-Free Klezmer; The Witching Hour; and Sockrates- Sock Puppet Carnival of Morals and Logic (making a guest appearance at this concert!).
