Artist Statement Tamara Lea Kaufman’s personal artwork ranges from serious to quirky, dark, adult-themed humor. She creates multimedia assemblage, collage, and dioramas made from HO-scale railroad hobby miniatures, preserved insects, paint, embroidery, found objects, and typically discarded materials such as candy wrappers and the overlooked debris of everyday life. Her work explores topics of consumption, waste, desire, relationships, psychology, politics, societal pressures and the levity of humor needed to survive it all. Tom Hamer and Gregory Taylor are no strangers to the Madison community---Tom is well known for his varied percussion work with Fuzzy Logic, free-improv trio Primordial Soup, and as a regular for the Vortex collective. Gregory Taylor has hosted the experimental radio program RTQE for 20 years, playing everyone's music (but his own) in addition to venturing outside the city limits with Mr. Hamer. and occasional Vorticism of his own.
