Artist Statement Tamara Lea Kaufman’s personal artwork ranges from serious to quirky, dark, adult-themed humor. She creates multimedia assemblage, collage, and dioramas made from HO-scale railroad hobby miniatures, preserved insects, paint, embroidery, found objects, and typically discarded materials such as candy wrappers and the overlooked debris of everyday life. Her work explores topics of consumption, waste, desire, relationships, psychology, politics, societal pressures and the levity of humor needed to survive it all. This show reunites two of the former members of Durable Goods (featured on the Live @ Mother Fools CD) Mike is now based in Sheboygan and fronts the popular jug/blues/string band the Water Street Hotshots (www.ammonshotshots.com) John Fabke (www.johnfabkemusic.com) is based in Poynette, WI and plays with the award-winning Nob Hill Boys and Cajun Strangers. This evening, Ammons and Fabke will share their old-time blues songs and tunes on guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle and more.
