J Scott Franklin sounds like a mixture of Soul Coughing, Drums and Tuba and Velvet Underground. Scott is a vocalist, guitarist and trumpet player who ties this all together with a loop pedal which allows him to build songs on the fly.

"The words come first". Scott says that nearly every song he writes begins with words and is followed by music. He's writing sound tracks to poems, painting life with words, searching for phrases that give us a sense of color and depth while striving to recreate personal memories for the listeners.
