Mexico KulaktikColectivo’s history with Kulaktik dates back to 1998 when we were introduced to the cooperative through its Milwaukee sister parish. Located in the highlands of Chiapas, the group now boasts more than 250 members who grow coffee at elevations ranging from 1,350 to 1,800 meters. After years of dependence on outside organizations, Kulaktik – meaning “vine” in the Mayan language Tzeltal – now carries its own export license and continues to focus on quality improvements. The result is a coffee rich in flavors of plum, dark chocolate, and concord grape with a medium body. Enjoy! |

Genmaicha (Loose Leaf) is known as “brown rice tea,” as it is a blend of green tea and roasted brown rice. Davidson’s Genmaicha (Loose Leaf) carries a nutty, light flavor with a sweet finish, compliments of the roasted brown rice. Davidson’s Genmaicha is sourced from Shaoxing County, in the Zhengjiang Province of China. This area is known for its rolling hills and network of rivers. The tea gardens are located just east of the Kuaiji Mountain. The landscape in these tea gardens is at an incline, allowing for natural irrigation and plenty of sun exposure. Traditionally, genmaicha was created to reduce the price of tea and prolong short supplies by adding rice as a filler, and was commonly consumed by the poor. In this way, genmaicha also became known as the “people’s tea.” Ingredients: Organic green tea and organic toasted rice. Steep for 2 - 3 minutes. |

Gunpowder Green (Loose Leaf) is a form of Chinese green tea in which the tea leaf is rolled into a small, round pellet. In particular, the tea leaves are withered, steamed, rolled and then dried. Davidson’s Gunpowder Green (Loose Leaf) brews mellow and layered, with a deep, smoky flavor profile. Davidson’s Gunpowder is sourced from Wuyuan County, in the Jiangxi Province of China. This area is known as part of the “Green Tea Golden Triangle,” as the climate and altitude are prime for green tea growth and production. The small farmers in this area live by the tea in a small, remote village, and believe in building harmony between man and nature.
