Cat Capellaro

I am a longtime near east-sider who recently relocated to Blooming Grove (Off Fair Oaks, near Hwy. 30) to be close to my sister, Jennie. After years of focusing on writing (Isthmus) and music (I sing and play trumpet in VO5 and Loving Cup), the pandemic has brought me back to one of my first loves: visual art. I love to paint scenes from my immediate neighborhood, including Starkweather Creek. I also find inspiration from my friends and neighbors' photos. I have never looked at the sky as much as I have in these past nine months. It's a gift in the midst of a time of struggle. I usually paint in oil on canvas or linen, and I also sell originals.
