Shani Coleman - March 2022 March 1 - 31, 2022
Bio: I first really started to find my creative path about 8 years ago when I was living in Albuquerque, NM. Because I didn’t have much money at the time, buying new art materials wasn’t an option. So, I began to use things that I could find for free on the curb, in recycling dumpsters, as well as paints and brushes donated or discarded from non-profit art hubs. Many of my pieces are made from used calendars and art books. My time spent in Albuquerque shaped my now established method of using free, recycled, gifted, or thrifted materials. I try to recreate emotions and dreams, concepts and poetry. I think that each of our artistic evolutions can be vessels for growth and insight. I love getting lost in that world of dreaming.
I grew up in Madison, WI and live with my partner and our two cats.
