Laurel Statz

"The Spectator"

December 2025

Laurel Statz is a painter and Madison area native. Her work, while figurative, is influenced by abstraction and minimalism. 4 - 7 pm. Free and open to the public.

AJ O\'Neil, owner of AJ-s Music Caf- near Detroit, MI, held a \'Solidarity with Wisconsin\' concert back in March. This was AJ\'s third annual coffeehouse concert focusing on the plight of the American worker. This year the caf- broke the Guinness World Record for holding the longest continuous concert in history -- over 360 hours!

Part of the requirement for the Guinness record is to have a clock on stage as artists perform. O-Neil bought a decorative metal plate featuring the state of Wisconsin at a Salvation Army store and had a friend install a U.S.-made clock in it.

-Every time you look at the stage, you are going to see Wisconsin,- O-Neil said.

AJ O\'Neil is now running for Congress (in Michigan) and is touring his state (his candidacy was recently endorsed by Michael Moore!). AJ will be taking a detour next week to stop in Madison and meet with some of the people of Wisconsin who have been standing up for workers\' rights.
