Laurel Statz is a painter and Madison area native. Her work, while figurative, is influenced by abstraction and minimalism. The paintings often have a quick and instinctual nature, capturing just what’s needed. While she often times herself to eliminate extra details and over-precision, she has ventured into more detailed works as well. Laurel does not attach narrative to her pieces. Graham A. Parsons
Taught by needles and grooves, by airwaves and tape, Graham A. Parsons uses his handcrafted tools to build what he sees. Led by a guitar and versatile voice Graham has been writing and performing songs for nearly ten years. At the age of sixteen he was cutting his teeth playing grueling three set gigs at the various smoky dives of Upper Michigan-s Keweenaw Peninsula. Since then he has become a mainstay in the Michigan circuit, and is on a path of perpetual growth as a musician and performer. Now, at 22, with two full length albums as a co-founder of the Michigan based Squeaky Clean Cretins to his credit, he is set to release an exploratory solo debut early 2010.
