Dan Collins and a Piano
To clarify some common misconceptions, "Dan Collins and a Piano" is more than just Dan Collins playing a piano. As contradictory as that may sound, that simple duo of vocals and pianos was just the beginning of the piano rock band "Dan Collins and a Piano", marketed under the name of his solo project. Dan Collins and a Piano (abbreviated DCP) has been in the industry since October of 2007. Their musicianship has inspired an original sound. A mixture of soaring melodies atop big beat piano and bass riffs appeals to listeners of all demographics and preferences. Sounds similar to "Ben Folds", "The Rocket Summer", and "Coldplay" can be heard from this guitar-less band. On drums, theoretic maniac, Luke Thering has been playing percussion/piano for virtually his entire life. His similar likes in music have driven him to be the "best piano-rock drummer of the ages" -Dan Collins. On bass, rocker Chris Gatz has an array of mad skills. Seeing as his primary instrument is the electric guitar, picking up the bass wasn't a problem for this musical frenzy of a man. Chris is indisputably, "the most driven musician of his kind." -Dan Collins On piano, Dan Collins.
