"Permutations of Red Pine"

September 2026

A Red Pine tree was planted at the corner of 212 Merry Street in the late 60s that evolved over the decades into a cooperative household. We are making it a place for comity and creativity; Clarity and the imagination; we change detritus of early 21st century late stage capitalism into art, shrine, paintings, music, sculptures, urban Permaculture and homesteading experiments. We appreciate the used, the worn out, ever crumbling and reassembling; as we all are all the time.

"The solo outlet of National Beekeepers Society's Nick Whetro. Icarus Himself emphasizes what lurks under NBS's reassuring guitar fuzz. The Madison band's other members often join Whetro during his sets, which often include some NBS songs, but the tracks Whetro's recorded for an upcoming EP prove more haunting. On "Last Lung," "Amputee," and "People's Temple," he accompanies his death 'n' degradation tales with lonely echoes, double-tracked vocals, and the occasional drum machine." - The Onion

Fans of Syd Barrett, Neutral Milk Hotel, and The Unicorns take notice.
