David Fox and Will Branch are a folk duo from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They play a crowd-pleasing mix of old blues, Cajun dance music, fiddle tunes, New Orleans-flavored songs and early pop and jazz standards. They also perform a wide range of folk-based children's songs. The duo has played to appreciative audiences at clubs, festivals, schools, libraries and retirement centers, as well as at parties and weddings. Their music has been played on radio stations across the United States and in Canada.

David Fox began performing music as a teenager in Madison, Wisconsin. As President of the University of Wisconsin Folk Arts Society, he met many of the greats of blues, bluegrass and folk music during the 1960's and 1970's. As a member of a local jug band, he played washboard, fiddle and guitar. In Milwaukee he and his wife Penny, a fine vocalist, earned a great local reputation for their unique style and their repertoire of traditional music. In 1997, he was named World String Blues Champion at Avoca, Iowa.

Will Branch has made his living through music for most of his adult life. As a member of the Milwaukee-based dance band John the Conqueroo, he toured nationally and played often in places like New Orleans and Texas. For five years, he also led his own group, the Will Branch Trio. In addition to being half of Fox and Branch, he works as a solo performer, playing for children, seniors, and the developmentally disabled, as well as at clubs and coffeehouses.

In concert, Fox and Branch can move from a rendition of "Ain't Misbehavin'," arranged for guitar and washboard, to an old American fiddle tune like "Cowboy Waltz," to a Cajun two-step like "Grand Texas," to a bluesy version of "The Crawdad Song." Their children's show includes sing-alongs, fiddle tunes, and an opportunity for the children to play the washboard and other rhythm instruments.

In 2001, Fox and Branch released the CD "Bootlegger's Blues." The CD features a number of talented friends, including Milwaukee old-time musician Lil' Rev and Chicago blues wizard Eric Noden. The songs on the CD are representative of a Fox and Branch live performance, with a special emphasis on old-time American music.

Fox and Branch make everything they play their own, while respecting the tradition that the music comes from. The straightforward and upbeat style of their show communicates with people of all walks of life and all ages. They bring years of experience, love of the music and a winning way with an audience to every one of their performances.
