Inspired by a piece of Paris street graffiti and three years in the making, the album Mirage will present itself at this October 26th show. Backed by the mythical Orchestra Bordenave, Maury Smith will paint a rich canvass of images and emotions in 12 original songs with voice, guitar, banjo, mandolin, bouzouki and drums. A second set more akin to his usual musical monologue style will focus on New Orleans, that great drain where all things Mid-American empty into the gently rising gulf. It\'s Maury\'s first performance since 2010\'s musical monologue, Banjo. Seriously. and he\'s really glad to be playing out again and to be done with this monstrous recording project that\'s morphed into a website with all kinds of other music and tons of Marcia Yapp\'s photography and some writing and other musings all somehow centered on the metaphor of Mirage (although in some cases it just looks that way). Come enjoy the show!
