Laurel Statz is a painter and Madison area native. Her work, while figurative, is influenced by abstraction and minimalism. The paintings often have a quick and instinctual nature, capturing just what’s needed. While she often times herself to eliminate extra details and over-precision, she has ventured into more detailed works as well. Laurel does not attach narrative to her pieces. Rather, she thinks of them like a journaling process for her scatter-brained psyche. The figures in the pieces are meant to be processing tools for the artist and the viewer. Tennessee-raised, Minneapolis-based soul-songstress Chastity Brown has an alluring tendency to turn heads and hold audiences captive with her emotive folk compositions, mesmerizing voice and hypnotic acoustic guitar.

She has released three full-length albums. Her first disc was recorded live on television, and her sophomore disc, Sankofa (March 2009), was recorded solo in the studio. On their first album, High Noon Teeth (June 2010), Chastity and her bandmates have concocted a powerful combination of roots, rhythm, and blues. The emotional improv at the heart of Chastity's storytelling is fully evident on High Noon Teeth and it has her garnering attention from fans across the country.

In the past nine months she has shared the stage with Angelique Kidjo, Toshi Raegon, Dessa, and Raul Midon.
