We are self-taught artists who create work inspired by healing, nature, travel, and personal experiences. Growing up, art became a way for us to process emotions, express ourselves, and create spaces that felt meaningful and comforting. Our first “gallery” was our college apartment, which we transformed with our own artwork and nature-inspired design and the power of the feminine. Kevin Larkin's Pineross is an ever changing musical exploration. The Michigan native recorded his debut in a cabin outside of Boulder, Colorado in 2005, playing the majority of the instruments himself. It is a meditation on the dying American West, a fusion of Spaghetti-Westerns, bluegrass, Irish melodies, and classic country - funneled through his hypnotic, often delusional lyrics. In 2006, Larkin relocated to Oxford, Mississippi to join the outlaw bluegrass rebels, the Mayhem String Band on mandolin, accordion and harmonica. SPIN magazine named their live show "The Best Time You'll Have all Month" and their latest release, Land Pirates (2009) was produced by Jimbo Mathus (Squirel Nut Zippers) has seen regular airplay on SIRIUS/XM. Earlier this year, Larkin split time between Mississippi and Colorado recording the second Pineross album, to be released this fall. In a progression from his earlier work, the songs incorporate Latin rhythms, soul sampling and flowing lyrics into the string band foundation. Now he is on the road playing a couple dozen dates across the country with a stripped down version Pineross - perched upon a rigged up Samsonite suitcase, playing guitars, mandolins, tambourines, and harmonicas.
