Laurel Statz is a painter and Madison area native. Her work, while figurative, is influenced by abstraction and minimalism. The paintings often have a quick and instinctual nature, capturing just what’s needed. While she often times herself to eliminate extra details and over-precision, she has ventured into more detailed works as well. Laurel does not attach narrative to her pieces. Rather, she thinks of them like a journaling process for her scatter-brained psyche. The figures in the pieces are meant to be processing tools for the artist and the viewer. Chicago blues singer and slide guitarist, Donna Herula, plays old-time Delta and country blues on her National steel resonator guitars. With a percussive guitar style and a soulful voice, Donna performs the songs of the early blues men and women. Donna has performed at numerous clubs and festivals across the U.S., including the Chicago Blues Festival, Bayfront Blues Festival (Duluth, MN) and the Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival.

Lonesome Dan's live performances showcase both his unique finger-picking style and dynamic vocals as well as his depth of knowledge of the history of the blues. If you catch a live performance, you're bound to walk away with some interesting tidbits about known artists like Blind Lemon Jefferson or more obscure performers like Funny Papa Smith. Lonesome Dan's trusted companions are his custom Kennedy 6 string and his 1935 National played bottleneck/slide style. He has performed at numerous clubs and various festivals including Bayfront Blues Fest and Lyons Colorado Blues Fest. He lives in St. Paul, MN.
