Artist Statement Tamara Lea Kaufman’s personal artwork ranges from serious to quirky, dark, adult-themed humor. She creates multimedia assemblage, collage, and dioramas made from HO-scale railroad hobby miniatures, preserved insects, paint, embroidery, found objects, and typically discarded materials such as candy wrappers and the overlooked debris of everyday life. Her work explores topics of consumption, waste, desire, relationships, psychology, politics, societal pressures and the levity of humor needed to survive it all. MUSIC! MIRTH!! and MORE!!!

Who are Geoff and Kia? The Steve and Eydie of Wisconsin? The Captain and Tenille of instrumental improvised music? The Steve and Tenille and Eydie and Captain of the 21st century? Which of these things

is Geoff and Kia??

Geoff (Brady) and Kia (Karlen) are a pair of Madison musicians who have previously occupied the stage at Mother Fool---s with such ensembles as Yid Vicious, Yammer, Dyna-Music and The Theramones. As a duo, the two put on a show crammed full of improvisation, married-people banter...and accordions! Plus, maybe puppets! Utilizing the vibraphone, the afore-mentioned accordion, plus various brass and percussion instruments, AS WELL AS the theremin and electro-acoustic resources, Geoff and Kia play a m--lange of new original music, soundscapes, a smattering of classical music from long ago, and lots and lots of filler. Plus, maybe PUPPET JOKES!
