February 2026

Artist Statement Tamara Lea Kaufman’s personal artwork ranges from serious to quirky, dark, adult-themed humor. She creates multimedia assemblage, collage, and dioramas made from HO-scale railroad hobby miniatures, preserved insects, paint, embroidery, found objects, and typically discarded materials such as candy wrappers and the overlooked debris of everyday life. Double Shirley Poppy is a skillfully explosive musical group using grit, grace, and beauty to create an original rock and roll sound spiced with blues, folk, funk and jazz. The result is an interesting and familiar blend of music with a spontaneous feel.

Chad Anderson, composer, vocalist and absurdist, plays guitars and sings for the group. His articulate
phrasing, soulful grit and energetic stage presence
make this group's performances exciting and fun to
watch. Dave Krenz, percussion extraordinaire, plays drum kit and sings. His intimate ties to jazz and his human metronome capabilities allow him to be the pulse and the grace of the group. Todd Miller plays saxophones and accordion. His soaring melodies, buttery touch and goofy stage antics bring out the beauty of the band.

Two special guests have been added to the group for this occasion:
Nick Matthews is an extremely gifted guitarist who
composes as well. Nick will be playing lead guitar and singing. Justin Kopp is an eclectic upright and electric bass player. His jazz sensibilities will heat this gathering up to a boil. Showcasing material from Chad Anderson's new CD, "Last Things First, 1st Things Last", the Poppy will be making the rounds and spreading smiles.
