The Motor Primitives w/ Josh Harty

Saturday, September 17, 2005

If the Pretenders got in a car crash with Roy Orbison, and they had Stevie Ray Vaughn do reconstructive surgery, and were given a blood transfusion from the Police, you'd wind up with the quirky and introspective rock that is The Motor Primitives. They put on a dynamite live performance and the intimate nature of Mother Fool---s Coffeehouse will surely intensify that experience. The Motor Primitives are showcasing material from their recently released debut CD but you can expect to hear a couple of new tunes in the mix. Their brand of straight-up rock has made them local favorites and a sure fire bet for an enjoyable evening.

Josh Harty is a classic example of "Made In America." He blends
contemporary midwestern sensibility wth traditional gospel and blues to
create a rich hybrid unique in the field of acoustic guitar. His poignant
lyrics are the product of astute observation and thoughtful introspection.
His crisp, emotive guitar couples with warm, smoky vocals that settle
comfortably into each listener's ear.

"Josh Harty is one of the best young talents I have heard in years. His
sound is a sweet blend of folk and blues. Check it out, you wont't be
disappointed."-Bob Reha, Minnesota Public Radio

"Josh Harty is one of those naturals who you're not sure if you should
applaud in adoration or strangle out of envy."
-Sarah Henning, Duluth News Tribune
