Kelly Brightwell w. Hayward Williams

Grounded in acoustic tradition but going beyond conventional boundaries, "Kelly crafts achingly beautiful songs and delivers them with simple grace" (Chicago's Green-Note House Concert Series). Minnesota Monthly Magazine says her influences run "deeper than your standard java-fueled folk" and include such diverse artists as Jeff Buckley, REM and Billie Holiday. Kelly released her debut EP "wait for your spring" this past fall, and it has already received national attention: the song Knee Deep won Honorable Mention in last year's Rocky Mountain Folks Festival, and the remix of her song Recover has been tapped by San Francisco's Thump Radio for the upcoming dance-music compilation "Thump Chill".

A songwriter in the vein of Jonatha Brooke and Patty Griffin, Kelly combines evocative lyrics and rhythmic guitar work with a signature melodic sensibility. The result is thoughtful acoustic alt-pop music with a groove that explores the overlap between everyday experiences and the sublime.

Hayward Williams' live performances provide fans with solid guitar playing, soaring vocals and an assortment of interesting and sometimes ironic cover material. His original music blends strong melodies with lyrics that reflect his smart sense of humor. Built on a foundation of folk, blues and soul, his material has been compared to Ryan Adams, Jeff Buckley and Beck.
