Poetic Justice League 4 America

Friday, July 15, 2005

The Poetic Justice League was formed in 2002 as a collaboration of like minded poets, writers, and activists who wanted to bring creative thinking and a love of the spoken word to a broader audience. Common themes of social justice and elevated consciousness run through out this diverse group of artists/performers.

In an era of meaningless orators, shallow prose and a television-addicted nation, the inevitable reaction finally occurred in the form of six socially conscious, politically disgruntled and verbally dexterous individuals known as the Poetic Justice League 4 America (PJL4A). These poets provide "enlightenment through entertainment" with emphasis on performance to reach the unreachable, to share emotion with the apathetic, and to educate the uninformed. PJL4A transcends the condescension and snobbery associated with poetry by modernizing the entire concept and bringing it back to whom it belongs....everyone. A homogeneous mix of hip hop, classic and beat poetry creates an entertaining and educational show.
