Laurel Statz is a painter and Madison area native. Her work, while figurative, is influenced by abstraction and minimalism. The paintings often have a quick and instinctual nature, capturing just what’s needed. While she often times herself to eliminate extra details and over-precision, she has ventured into more detailed works as well. Laurel does not attach narrative to her pieces. Rather, she thinks of them like a journaling process for her scatter-brained psyche. The figures in the pieces are meant to be processing tools for the artist and the viewer. Come join other neighborhood knitters for an early morning knit-fest. Kristin Sage and master-knitter Molly Mendota are running the show and will have yarn, tools and helpful hints for kneedlers of any skill level. Mother Fool\'s will provide a bottomless cup of brewed coffee for all yarnheads during this special knit-fit.

If you are yearning for yarn and lively conversation fueled by Madison\'s best joe, grab your needles and come on down!

Starts at 5:30 am and runs thru 7:30.
