Laurel Statz is a painter and Madison area native. Her work, while figurative, is influenced by abstraction and minimalism. The paintings often have a quick and instinctual nature, capturing just what’s needed. While she often times herself to eliminate extra details and over-precision, she has ventured into more detailed works as well. Laurel does not attach narrative to her pieces. Rather, she thinks of them like a journaling process for her scatter-brained psyche. The figures in the pieces are meant to be processing tools for the artist and the viewer. Seth Blair (Reptile Palace Orchestra) will sing and play cello and bring the room to a halt with his incredible wordplay and talent.

Biff Blumfumgagnge (Gomers, Reptiles, Yammer) will then
provide a set of experimental midi and analog implimentation, electric
violin, a couple goofy tunes and more.

Brian Liston, aka DJ B-Ray (EOR, Urban Myth) will
round out the night with an incredible DJ / computer / live remix setup that
will blow your mind and provide the perfect ending to the evening.

DJ B-Ray is a member of the new wave in live remixing. Rather than just
spinning pre-recorded records, DJ B-Ray creates music on the fly and warps
it with effects for a psychedelic good time.
