About the Artist/Bio: Xizhou Xie, pronounced “she-joe shieh,” is an emerging abstract artist based in Madison, WI. With her home, studio, and art gallery all under one roof, she believes that art should seamlessly integrate into daily life. She specializes in creating vibrant pieces characterized by vivid colors, bold textures, and dynamic compositions that engage the viewer’s senses.

Xizhou draws inspiration from the diverse tapestry of life itself. Her unique experience as a first-generation immigrant can be seen through her choice of materials, subjects, and styles. From the different landscapes of her homelands, the ebb and flow of emotions, and the intricate balance of conflicting cultural values, Xizhou explores both how much and how little of her different identities can be seen on the canvas. Her connection to the worlds around her fuels a constant exploration of what she can convey with each painting, ensuring that each artwork is a unique reflection of the artist’s evolving perspective.
