Amy Arnold - December 2003

Amy Arnold's soft sculptures mingle to create a vibrantly colorful and textured "frilly underpants, crown of flowers, lots of nipples" type of world.
Recycled materials are filled with new life and personality as they are hand crafted into fantastical critters, creatures, and characters. Amy approaches such themes as parenthood, gender, and the changing of our bodies with candor and humor as her sculptures take toy-like shape.
Amy, a Madison native who studied sculpture at the University of Minnesota, now lives and works as a full time artist and mother on Madison's Near East Side. Enjoy her wonderful whimsical world!!
