Title: Home Improvement
Artist: Noah Huber
Details:
Statement: The kitchen would be clean without the human. Obstructing the purity implied by advertisements found in Ikea catalogs, these pieces demonstrate the humanity absent from them. The ads have figures forced into them, intertwining flesh, decay, and the graphic signifiers of appliances and furniture. An arm is the same thing as a refrigerator as the idea of a refrigerator. We occupy these spaces and the residue of humanity extends corporally to the spaces we inhabit.

Bio: Noah Huber is an art student at the UW Madison and teaching artist at Wheel House Studios. Doing some serigraphy here, some painting and drawing there, Noah is making a mess and living the dream.
